„Look for the challenge and take
it on!“
This could be the motto for the process of my musical formation.
At the age of five I learnt playing the piano, already longing for the violin,
which I started at eight. Soon I was sure that I wanted to become a violinist
and nothing else, not foreseeing what that might entail. |
After my school leaving examination (Abitur)
I studied at the Musikhochschule (musical academy) at Luebeck,
finishing with the diploma. I did not have much experience of
orchestral performance, but was told that every musician aims
at the employment in an orchestra. So I absolved a period of
probation at the Staatsoper Hamburg while still studying. In
order to become even more familiar with my instrument I continued
my studies at the Musikhochschule at Trossingen, finishing with
the diploma as a soloist. I earnt my living performing with the
Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, in the SWR Radiosinfonieorchester
Stuttgart and in the Staatsoper Stuttgart. For persuing my career
as a soloist I gave concerts with my violin partner in Germany
as well as abroad.
The GermanPopsOrchestra offered to me - among other things
- many opportunities of performing music for entertainment,
which attracted me like magic. During
the concert- tour of the Rock- legend Jon Lord (Deep Purple) I performed
solo recitals in all famous concert halls of Germany. Here
I met people of the same
wavelength, and so the quartet „LadyStrings“ came into being.
My aim is musical entertainment at a high artistic level.

With pleasure and passion I have always
played the part of the second violin in chambermusic. This
inclination towards music
which I felt very early in life was developed fully only later.
After my „Abitur“ I did a commercial vocational
training and studied cultural management before I took up studying
the
violin at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart, finishing with the
diploma. |
My enthusiasm and obsession for music accompanied
by curiosity led me to countless experiences in the field of chambermusic,
of playing with chambermusic ensembles as well as symphony orchestras
in northern as well as southern Germany ( Landesjugendorchester
Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Niedersachsen, Norddeutsche Kammerphilharmonie,
Kammerorchester arcata Stuttgart, Artisfact Karlsruhe, Kammerorchester
Tübingen, Festspielorchester der Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele,
Bachakademie Stuttgart.)
With different ensembles big or small I have travelled through all continents,
and in Germany there are few towns and places where I have not performed.
Added to that, various opportunities in the field of entertainment led me to
further musical formation and flexibility as a violinist, for example performing
film music, soundtrack-accompanyment and the GermanPopsOrchestra. One result
of this exposure is founding the quartet „LadyStrings“: performing
together in a steady ensemble we aim at high quality of entertainment music.

Growing up in a very musically-minded family, I was accompanied
by chamber music from the very beginning.I began learning the
violin and later on changed to the viola. I like this instrument
very much, as it is the connecting link between violin and
violoncello and thus the very centre of every string ensemble. |
My first exposure to symphonic music in the Youth Orchestra of Bavaria
made me decide on music and the viola as my profession.
During my studies at the Salzburg Mozarteum, which I concluded with the orchestra
diploma, I had the opportunity to try out the most varied musical stiles, from
old and modern to folk and film, and I decided to combine all of those later
on during my professional career as a musician.
My orchestra experience includes the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, the Mozarteum
Orchester Salzburg, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Muenchner Philharmoniker,
the Hessische Staatstheater Wiesbaden and the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz,
where I am engaged since September 2008.
Since March of 2009 I've joined the LadyStrings. Performing in this string quartet
my early dreams of a mixed repertory most miraculously are coming true. |

I am the youngest member of the quartet as well as its musical
base.
During my studies of the violoncello I had many opportunities to gather experiences
in opera-, symphony- and chambermusic-orchestras at Mannheim, Frankfurt, Munich,
Vienna and in and around Wuerzburg, discovering early on my preference for chamber
music. |
I am very much attracted by the variety of musical styles which nurture
my curiosity. I have performed in different bands of Rock and Pop,
have played with the GermanPopsOrchestra and have helped to found
the ensemble „Salonzauber“, dedicated to the music of
the time of 1920-1940.
With the quartet „LadyStrings“ we are moving in different styles
of music, thus creating a bridge between the realms of the classical and of entertainment. |
